The Uganda Football Federation (FUFA) has named a 41-man provisional squad for the 2024 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) as they aim to improve their group stage elimination in their previous appearance.
The squad features stars exclusively from the Uganda Premier League—except for surprise inclusion James Bogere of Masaka Sunshine FC, a regional league outfit.
Head coaches Fred Muhumuza and Morley Byekwaso, will lead the charge, and all selected players are locally based, as per tournament regulations.
The tournament co-hosts are in the toughest pool, Group C, alongside Algeria, Niger, Guinea and South Africa and will open their campaign against Algeria on the 4th of next month at the newly refurbished Nelson Mandela stadium.
