Harambee Stars CHAN players to buy government houses at Ksh 1M, says Ruto

President William Ruto has said the government will subsidise the cost of a two-bedroom unit in the Affordable Housing Programme for the Harambee Stars players as part of the reward scheme following their stellar performance during the CHAN 2024.
Speaking at State House Nairobi, the Head of State said the government will sell a two-bedroom house for a subsidised cost of Ksh 1 million, which the players will pay in cash or be given a 20-year mortgage for.
At the onset of CHAN 2024, President William Ruto offered the Harambee Stars a cash reward of 1 million shillings for a win and half a million shillings for a draw.
Speaking at State House, Nairobi, when he hosted the Stars for a luncheon, the Head of State offered to subsidise the cost of a two-bedroom unit for the players.
President Ruto added that there will be continued investment in sports infrastructure as Kenya prepares to host AFCON 2027.
Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya offered sustainable talent development, while the Harambee Stars unit was grateful for the support accorded to them.
