Uganda returns to Namboole against Guinea with no room for error

Co-hosts Uganda Cranes will return to their iconic Nelson Mandela Stadium Namboole, against the Syli National of Guinea in their 2nd group C fixture today starting at 8pm.
After being overwhelmed by Algeria in their 1st match, the Ugandans under the tutelage of Morley Byekwaso find themselves in a catch-22 situation, as only a victory will keep their quarter-final hopes alive.
The Cranes were humiliated 3-0 by Algeria in their 1st match, while Guinea overcame Niger by a solitary goal.
The Guinea vs Uganda match will be preceded by last edition runners-up Algeria, who will be in search of their 2nd victory against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana in the 5pm kick-off at the Namboole stadium.
Almost half of South Africa’s squad in this year’s CHAN are clubless.
