Mudavadi urges African envoys to back AU, global finance reforms

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has called on African diplomats to advance key reforms within the African Union (AU) and push for a transformation of the global financial system to better serve developing nations.

Speaking in Brasilia during a meeting with African Heads of Mission, Mudavadi urged the continent’s representatives to advocate for a just and inclusive world order that reflects Africa’s aspirations under Agenda 2063.

Mudavadi, who is also the Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, was received by Ambassador Martin Mbeng, the Dean of the African diplomatic corps in Brazil which represents 35 African countries.

The PCS stressed the need for bold diplomacy, noting that Africa must speak in one voice to demand fairness in international systems that have long marginalized the continent.

“I called on my colleagues to boldly advocate for a just and inclusive world order, aligned with Africa’s Agenda 2063,” said Mudavadi.

He was accompanied by Kenya’s Ambassador to Brazil, Dr. Andrew Karanja.
