Illicit brew destroyed in multi-agency operation in Kayole

Over 100 litres of illicit brew were destroyed during a coordinated multi-agency operation in the Mwengenye area of Kayole Sub-County, Nairobi County.
The operation, led by officers from Obama Police Station, targeted several illegal brewing dens near Dandora Bridge along the Nairobi River.
They dismantled brewing structures and destroyed more than ten 20-litre plastic jerricans of Kangara.
“The operation was part of an ongoing operation on the manufacture and distribution of unregulated and harmful brew in the area”, the National Police Service said.
Authorities have launched investigations to identify and arrest the individuals behind the illegal activities.
“While no arrests were made at the scene, the police confirmed that several suspects have already been profiled and are being tracked”, NPS said even as it reaffirmed its commitment to continue working with local leaders, government agencies and the community to eliminate illicit brews and narcotics drugs.
