Ex-Governor Obado to face trial over Sharon Otieno murder

Former Migori County Governor Okoth Obado, his assistant Michael Oyamo, and Caspal Obiero have a case to answer in the murder of former Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.

This follows a ruling by Justice Cecilia Githua who found that the prosecution had presented sufficient evidence to establish a case against the three.

The suspects faced two charges, Sharon’s murder and that of her unborn child.

However, Justice Githua acquitted them of the second charge.

Sharon was killed in 2018 while pregnant, in a murder allegedly orchestrated by Obado and his associates.

The three have denied any involvement in the killing.
