Women entrepreneurs to seek export opportunities with Kenya’s growing diplomacy

The government has urged women entrepreneurs to take advantage of Kenya’s growing foreign diplomacy to capitalise on emerging export opportunities.
Speaking during the AccelerateHER Trade Summit the Principal Secretary, State Department of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Susan Mang’eni reaffirmed government’s commitment to 40pc local sourcing.

She encouraged women entrepreneurs to take advantage of the preferential public procurement under the Access to Government Procurement Opportunities (AGPO) framework
The summit which is organised by the Centre for the Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries (CBI), is an initiative of the government of the Netherlands, in conjunction with the Passion To Profit Initiative.
It resonates with Kenya’s bilateral vision to promote trade as a sustainable tool for development, mutual knowledge exchange, and the strengthening of diplomatic and economic relations.
“Trade, when inclusive, becomes more than a transactional exchange it becomes a channel for equity, dignity, and growth.” Said the PS.

Further the PS communicated the State Department of MSMEs’ vision for strengthened partnerships between women entrepreneurs and trade support institutions, increased knowledge on trade facilitation and market access, and the enhancement of business linkages and potential trade deals.
