Wavinya Ndeti calls for compromise between gov’t, doctors over strike

Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has called for a compromise between doctors and the Government over the current doctor’s strike.

Addressing the media after attending a worship service at Seventh Day Adventist Church, Jetview, Utawala, Wavinya said the two parties needed to embrace productive dialogue to end the suffering of patients seeking services in various public hospitals across the country.

“I am urging our doctors to reconsider their hardline position in the ongoing negotiations as the Government pulls up to meet some of their expectations. It is a give-and-take affair,” Wavinya said.

The Governor noted that many Kenyans have greatly suffered as a result of the doctor’s strike,  pointing out that it was not difficult to reach a consensus.

“I believe a solution will be found if we give dialogue a chance because it has worked before when I had issues with Machakos health workers,” she said.

Earlier, the Governor led senior officials in her Government in fundraising towards the completion of the church building.
