Wajir leaders back Ruto-Raila pact after Abdisalan lands PS role

Political and community leaders from Wajir have pledged their unequivocal support for the broad-based government, thanking President William Ruto and political partner Raila Odinga for nominating former Wajir North MP Ibrahim Ahmed Abdisalan as the PS for State Department for National Government Coordination at the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary.

Speaking in Nairobi on Sunday, noted that the current relationship between the government and the people of North Eastern is critical and would result in more nominations ahead of the 2027 elections

“We believe he has what it takes to deliver, and we are confident he will not let down the President and the Right Honorable Raila Odinga. We pray that the broad-based government will tackle the challenges facing Kenyans,” they stated.

President Ruto nominated Abdisalan on Thursday alongside 13 others, just two weeks after signing a cooperation agreement with Odinga.

Abdisalan, a member of the ODM party, served as Wajir North MP from 2017 to 2022.
