Two nabbed for impersonating DCI officers

Detectives based in Nairobi have arrested two suspects for impersonating DCI officers and defrauding unsuspecting members of the public.
According to the DCI, the two namely; Nicholas Okoth Owino and David Otieno Odhiambo were nabbed following extortion reports of over Ksh 200,000 from a citizen by falsely presenting themselves as DCI officers.
The suspects claimed they could expedite an ongoing investigation, luring the victim into their scam.
“As the investigation unfolds, detectives are exploring the possibility that the duo may have targeted other victims in a similar fashion,” the DCI said in a statement through their official X account.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has urged anyone who has fallen prey to these fraudsters to come forward and report at any nearest police station.
