Trafficker arrested with bhang worth over Ksh 7M in Voi

Coordinated efforts between detectives, traffic, and general duties officers from Voi Police Station led to the arrest of a trafficker and the seizure of bhang valued at over Ksh 7 million.
The suspect, Collins Otieno Angwech, 50, was driving a grey Voxy (registration KCK 054X), packed with illegal cargo.
When traffic officers near Izera Ranch signalled him to stop, Angwech attempted to evade capture by speeding towards Mombasa.
This triggered an immediate response from the DCI and general duty officers, who gave chase.
After an intense pursuit, the vehicle was intercepted off-road and escorted back to Voi Police Station.
Upon inspection, officers recovered 1,315 rolls and eight and a half sacks of bhang, with an estimated street value of Ksh 7,135,500.
Angwech is now detained at Voi Police Station as investigations continue. The confiscated narcotics and the vehicle are being held as exhibits.
