    Major traffic snarl-up along Nakuru–Eldoret highway

    There is a major traffic snarl-up along the Nakuru–Eldoret highway following an accident on Saturday at around 1:30 p.m.

    Police, who have issued a traffic advisory, said a lorry has obstructed the busy road at the Sachangwan area.

    Motorists travelling along the Kericho–Kisumu highway are being diverted and advised to use the Njoro–Molo–Nakuru road, while those heading to Eldoret from Nakuru have been directed to use the Nakuru–Eldama Ravine–Eldoret road.

    Meanwhile, efforts are currently ongoing to clear the road.

    “Following a self-involved accident at around 1340 hours, where a lorry has straddled both sides of the busy Nakuru–Eldoret Highway at the Sachangwan area, the National Police Service (NPS) has devised temporary diversion strategies”….

    “Motorists are asked to observe lane discipline and follow the instructions given by the police as this situation is addressed”, the NPS said in a statement.

    Rockside Academy bus involved in Eldoret-Nakuru Highway accident

    A bus belonging to Rockside Academy Utawala, carrying 26 students, 3 teachers, and 1 cook, has been involved in an accident.

    According to a police report, the accident occurred on Monday at approximately 1:20 PM in the Sachangwan area along the Eldoret-Nakuru Highway.

    The school bus was returning to Nairobi from the Eldoret National Music Festivals when a crane, identified as a Sany, travelling in the same direction, lost control and collided with the bus.

    The impact threw the bus off the road and involved two other cars.

    Details of the additional vehicles involved are yet to be confirmed.

    The injured individuals have been rushed to various hospitals within Molo.

    Further updates on their conditions and additional information about the accident will be provided as soon as available.

    The case is currently under investigation.
