Tanzania’s Twiga Stars are the 2025 CECAFA Women’s Cup champions after edging Harambee Starlets from Kenya by a solitary goal in the last round-robin match played on Saturday evening at the Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam.

After a barren first stanza, Kenyan defender Enoz Manzo scored an own goal in the 49th minute, which was enough for the host to lift the trophy for the first time since 2018 and 3rd overall.

Twiga Stars won all four matches to finish with a maximum of 12 points, 3 ahead of silver medalist Kenya.

Tanzania used the tournament as the last preparations for next month’s WAFCON tournament in Morocco.

2022 Champions Uganda Crested  Cranes finished 3rd.

Women’s championship at the Azam complex from 6pm Kenyan time.

less than a win to be crowned champions.

Bakari Shime, the Twiga Star head coach, told Cecafa Online that the
final match against Kenya will be a good ground to test several
aspects for his player. “I know it will be a tough match, and we must
be at our best,” added Shime.

Harambee Starlets Head Coach Beldine Odemba is also optimistic about her team.

“We can get the job done if they stick to the script. “This will be a very
tough match, but we should not give them the spaces and still to our
    game plan,” added Odemba.

Burundi, who shocked Uganda 1-0 in their opening match, will face South
Sudan in the first match from 4pm.
