
Shujaa and Kenya Lionesses are the winners of the 27th edition of the Safari Sevens after retaining their 2024 men’s and women’s titles on Sunday at Nyayo Stadium.
Shujaa retained the men’s title after coming from behind to overcome the Spanish side Shogun 14-7 in the final.
The Spaniards went ahead from a converted try by Anton Legorburu, with Nygel Amaitsa and Floyd Wabwire replying for Shujaa with a try apiece and conversions.
Another Kenyan representative, the Morans, settled for the bronze medal after claiming a 19-10 victory over Zimbabwe.
Kenya Lionesses also retained their title after defeating Uganda 14-10 in the women’s final.
The tournament, which was making a return to its traditional venue of Nyayo Stadium after 23 years, brought together 12 men’s and 7 women’s teams.
