Selection panel invites applications for NPSC chair, member positions

The selection panel for nominees to the National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has invited applications for the positions of chairperson and four members.

According to a notice issued by the panel, the commission seeks a chairperson and two categories of members: two retired senior police officers and two professionals with at least 10 years of experience in fields such as law, finance, and human rights.

To qualify for the chairperson role, applicants must be Kenyan citizens, hold a degree from a recognised university, meet Chapter Six requirements of the Constitution, and must not have previously served in the National Police Service.

Two member slots are reserved for retired senior officers who have held high-ranking positions in the National Police Service or other administrative security roles.

The remaining two positions are open to individuals with a distinguished public service record in disciplines such as finance, human resource management, public administration, law, human rights, ethics, mediation, and change management.

Candidates must be Kenyan citizens, degree holders from recognised universities, and must not have served in the National Police Service.

Applicants must also meet Chapter Six requirements and demonstrate integrity and professional excellence in their respective fields.

The panel has outlined strict disqualification criteria, barring individuals who have served as Members of Parliament or County Assemblies in the past five years, political party officeholders, persons declared bankrupt, those convicted of felonies, and individuals removed from public office for violating the Constitution or any other law.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to present original documents during interviews, including clearance certificates from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), and other relevant bodies.
