Ruto: Kenya committed to deeper collaboration with Ukraine

President William Ruto has affirmed Kenya’s commitment to strengthening relations with Ukraine, with a focus on education, trade, and food security.

In a meeting with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal in Seville, Spain, President Ruto said Kenya welcomes deeper collaboration with Ukraine to expand learning opportunities, especially for students.

He added that the two countries are keen to tackle food security challenges together and explore how Ukraine can use Kenya’s strategic location to distribute key commodities across the region.

“This partnership provides a valuable platform to expand cooperation in information and communication technology (ICT), as well as trade, for shared growth and development,” the President said

The two leaders met on the sidelines of the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development, where they also agreed to promote regional and global stability through peacekeeping, mediation, and multilateral diplomacy.

“We agreed on a range of engagements, including support for climate financing, promotion of green investments and the convening of an investor conference in Nairobi later in the year,” said Ruto.
