Road to AU: Mudavadi, Raila to give update on Chairmanship bid

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and Raila Odinga will on Wednesday give an update on the status of the country’s candidacy for the African Union Commission (AUC) chairmanship.
A statement seen by KBC Digital said the event will take place at the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary and CS for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Kenya Railways Headquarters, Off Haile Selassie Avenue.
This comes in the wake of a unanimous decision by the African Union Executive Council, on 15th March 2024, that the Eastern Africa region submits candidates for the AU Chairperson.
The ODM Leader has affirmed Africans that he is ready for the new role of making continent of Africa great.
After holding talks with President William Ruto and his Ugandan Counterpart Yoweri Museveni, Odinga said his journey to Africa’s top seat in Addis Ababa has began with endorsement from the leaders of the East African Community countries.
Mr. Odinga said he is confident that African governments will support his bid for the Chairmanship of the African Union Commission (AUC) saying he had begun seeing positive indications.
Odinga has also secured Zimbabwe’s support for his bid for to become the AU Chairperson following bilateral talks between President Emmerson Mnangagwa and President Ruto.
