President Ruto presides over 88th NYS Pass-Out Parade

President William Ruto will today oversee the 88th National Youth Service Pass-out Parade at the NYS College in Gilgil, Nakuru County.

The Monday pass-out parade will see 14,602 recruits graduate from the training college with various disciplines focusing on service to the nation.

NYS which oversees two pass-out parades annually is responsible for training of young citizens to serve the nation, and the employment of its members in tasks of national importance and otherwise in the service of the nation according to the NYS Act.

NYS recruits under a mandatory six months paramilitary training and service regimentation.

Recruits are trained for various services including security, farming and construction.

The President will be joined by among other high ranking government officials, Ministry of Public Service and Human Capital Development Cabinet Secretary Justin Bedan Muturi, NYS Chairman Njuki Mwaniki and NYS Commandant General James Tembur.
