Police recover 5 stolen cars, arrest main suspect in Kamulu raid

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have recovered 5 suspected stolen motor vehicles at a homestead in Kamulu.
According to the DCI, the Monday morning joint operation also saw the arrest of the prime suspect, Salesio Njagi Kiura.
Detectives started pursuing the suspect following a report made on June 10 regarding the theft of a car, Toyota Ractis stolen at Nairobi’s Umoja Innercore.
The car was later recovered at the suspect’s home in Kamulu along Joska Road.
“Acting on intelligence, CRIB hawkshaws from Nairobi Regional Hqs, DCI Buruburu and KPS officers from Kamulu Police Station proceeded to Kamulu along Josna Road at Kiura’s (suspect) residence, where the reported stolen car was found while in the process of being dismantled,” said the DCI.
Police also recovered four other vehicles, including a blue Mazda Demio, a Toyota Ractis (silver), a Suzuki Mira (silver) and a white Toyota Passo.
All the vehicles have been towed to the Buruburu police station where the suspect is also being held.
