Police arrest two suspects in Wajir petrol station robbery

Police in Wajir have arrested two suspects linked to a night robbery at a petrol station along Mandera Road in Wajir township.
The duo, identified as John Mwaura, 49, and Muia Mutuku, 28, were nabbed after a distress call alerted officers of an ongoing heist at the said petrol station.
According to the DCI, a gang of five men in jungle uniforms stormed the station, overpowered the watchman and pump attendant, and tied them up before stealing Ksh30,000 in cash.
However, the suspects’ attempt to escape was cut short when officers pursued them, leading to their immediate arrest.
Police recovered a mallet, an Administration Police jungle jacket, and military fatigues from the scene, raising concerns about the use of security gear in criminal activities.
Meanwhile, authorities have launched a manhunt for the three remaining suspects as investigations continue.
