Pharmacy and Poisons Board plants 16,000 trees in West Pokot

Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) participated in a tree planting initiative in Kaptabuk, West Pokot in a bid to boost conservation efforts by the State Department for Public Health and Professional Standards.

At least 16,000 trees were planted in Kaptabuk and Kamonges, contributing to the national drive for reforestation and environmental sustainability, in line with the President Wiliam Ruto’s directive to plant 15 billion trees by 2032.

The tree planting event is part of a broader campaign to promote environmental conservation and raise awareness about the critical role trees play in mitigating climate change.

“Trees not only help maintain ecological balance but also provide essential medicinal ingredients, used in both traditional remedies and modern pharmaceuticals, vital for treating various ailments.”
