Parliament set to vet two CS nominees today
The National Assembly will today, April 14, 2025, vet Cabinet Secretary nominees Geoffrey Ruku and Hanna Cheptumo, who were named in last month’s reshuffle by President William Ruto.
The two will appear before the Committee on Appointments chaired by Speaker Moses Wetang’ula.
First to face the committee at 2:00PM is Mbeere North MP Ruku, nominated to head the Ministry of Public Service, Human Capital Development and Special Programmes.
Cheptumo, nominated for the Ministry of Gender, Culture, The Arts and Heritage, will be vetted at 4:00PM.
The vetting process will assess the nominees’ academic credentials, professional experience, integrity, and suitability to serve in the Cabinet.
The committee’s recommendations will later be tabled in the House for approval or rejection.
