Nyandarua: Two children perish in dispensary staff quarters fire

Two children were killed on Tuesday night after a fire gutted the Heni Dispensary staff quarters in Kinangop, Nyandarua County.
According to a police report, the fire broke out at around 7:50 PM while the children were alone in the house.
Their mother, a nurse at the dispensary, had reportedly stepped out to buy milk and returned to find the house engulfed in flames.
The children, aged six and four, were both burnt beyond recognition despite efforts by a fire brigade from Naivasha to extinguish the fire.
The bodies of the two children were taken to Engineer Hospital Mortuary, where autopsies will be conducted. Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire and assess the value of the property lost in the incident.
