Nigeria and Egypt qualify for AFCON last Eight

Nigeria and Egypt booked their ticket for the AFCON quarter-finals after overcoming their opponents in the round of 16 played on Monday night.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles eased 4-0 past minnows Mozambique at the Fes Sports Complex in Fes City.
Victor Osimhen was on target twice, while Ademola Lookman and Akor Adams added a goal each to seal the victory in a one-sided match.
In an earlier match, the Pharaohs of Egypt, who are in the hunt for their 8th crown, laboured past Benin 3-1 after extra time after the match ended in a 1-1 draw in regulation time at the Stade de Adrar in Agadir.
After a first-half barren draw, Egypt drew the first blood in the 69th minute through Marwan Attia before
Jodel Dossou equalised in the 83rd minute, sending the contest to extra time in order to separate the two sides.
Yasser Ibrahim and Mo Salah sealed the victory for the Egyptians in the 97th and 124th minutes.
