Mwangaza’s supporters stage peaceful demos over her impeachment

Supporters of embattled Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza in Imenti, Meru County Tuesday held peaceful demonstrations criticizing her impeachment by the County Assembly last week.
The residents said that the move of impeaching the Governor Kawira was political accusing top Government officials of instigating her removal from office.
The residents have urged the President and his deputy to intervene and save Governor Mwangaza adding that as Meru County residents they are fully behind her leadership.
The residents said they have all the confidence in the Governor and what’s why they came out in large numbers to vote for her in the last General Elections.
Governor Kawira Mwangaza was impeached by the Meru county assembly on 25th October 2023 for the second time where 59 members of the said county assembly out off 69 voted for her impeachment. The rest 10 MCAs didn’t appear in the assembly chambers for voting.
