MP Milemba slams Malala for politicizing school play

Emuhaya MP Omboko Milemba has slammed former Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala for politicizing art through the controversial play ‘Echoes of War’ that was to be staged by Butere Girls School during the Kenya National and Drama Festival 2025.

Omboko, an educationist by profession, has called on Parliament to enact laws proving guidelines to schools on regulation of art and other co-curricular activities.

Omboko claims that Malala’s involvement in the Butere Girls play was influenced by politics.

He, however, called on government to allow the staging of the play in the ongoing festivals.
