Moraa to lead Kenyan trio in the hunt for 800m final slots in Tokyo

Women’s 800m defending champion Mary Moraa will lead national champion Lillian Odira and World under 20 champion Sarah Moraa in the semi finals of the two lap race in day seven of the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo Japan on Friday.
Moraa who is also the Olympic bronze medalist will be on heat 1 of the semi final starting at 2 :43pm with only best two finishers making it to Sunday’s final.
Odira will is appearing at the global stage for the 1st time be up the 2nd while Moraa is line up in the last heat and looking to make amends and qualify for her first senior final after being tripped in round 1 on Thursday.
World bronze medalist Jacob Krop,Mathew Kipchumba and Cornelius Kemboi will also compete in the men’s 5000m heats while Irene Jepkemboi will re write history as the first Kenyan woman to qualify for World championships when she takes to the field for the javelin qualification.
A total of five track finals will be on card on Friday including the 400m hurdles for both men and women 200m men and women and women’s 200m Heptathlon.
