Madaraka Day celebrations to be held in Wajir County

This year’s Madaraka Day will be held in Wajir County, President William Ruto has announced.
Making the announcement at the Wajir Stadium on Thursday during the Nyota Capital Disbursement programme, President William Ruto, said a total of Ksh 900 million has been set aside to rebuild the stadium ahead of the 1st June, 2026 Madaraka Day fete.
He told the elated residents that by completing the stadium before the Madaraka Day, will be one of the achieved flagship projects he promised the people of Wajir.
He, further, told Kenyans that in his leadership, no region will be left marginalized regardless of its political alienation.
President Ruto concluded the disbursement of the Nyota fund to hundreds of youths in both Mandera and Wajir counties with a clarion call to the beneficiaries to spend the kitty for the intended purposes.
