Laikipia: Mystery as severely mutilated body found at Munyu dam

A mutilated body missing its head, hands, and legs has been found in Munyu Dam, Laikipia West Sub-County.
Residents fetching water discovered the remains inside a sack after noticing a foul stench and alerted authorities.
Area MCA Simon Kanyutu said the body appeared to belong to a man, though his identity and age remain unknown.
He speculated the victim may have been killed elsewhere and dumped in the dam, as no one in the area recognised him.
Rumuruti Sub-County Police Commander Francis Ng’ang’a confirmed the incident, saying the remains were taken to Nyahururu County Referral Hospital mortuary for identification and a postmortem.
He urged the public to report any missing persons to the nearest police station.
