KRA taps Lilian Nyawanda to head customs unit 

Lilian Nyawanda will oversee Kenya Revenue Authority’s (KRA) customs and border control unit after being redeployed to the position.

KRA Commissioner General Humphrey Wattanga in a statement said Nyawanda will be responsible for the implementation of initiatives that will drive customs revenue.

Nyawanda previously served in the position  for two years before being seconded to the to the National Treasury and Economic
Planning.

“Ms Nyawanda has a wealth of experience in customs administration, policy and legislation,” said Wattanga.

“She will be instrumental in overseeing the department’s
core business of trade facilitation, border control and revenue mobilisation,” he added.

She holds a Master of Business Administration (Strategic Management) degree from United States International University and a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) degree from
University of Nairobi.
