KQ plane makes emergency landing after passenger falls ill

A Kenya Airways plane heading to the United Kingdom was forced to make an emergency landing on Monday, October 9, following a medical emergency.

Through a statement by the national carrier, a passenger on board KQ100 operating from Nairobi to London Heathrow was taken ill at 14.19hrs.

KQ said the incident was immediately declared an emergency by their Captain with Air Traffic Control (ATC) so that the flight could get an expedited landing for the passenger to receive further medical attention.

According to the Airline, the crew on board assisted by two medical doctors and a nurse provided medical assistance to the passenger while enroute.

KQ notes that the aircraft landed safely at 14.47hrs and paramedics who were already on ground to receive the aircraft immediately took the passenger to hospital for further medical attention.
