KMPDC orders health facilities in petrol stations, residential buildings to relocate

The Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) has directed health facilities operating in petrol stations and residential buildings to relocate within six months.

In a notice issued on X, KMPDC said directive aims to enhance patient safety and curb the spread of infections by ensuring medical facilities operate in appropriate environments.

The Council outlined several safety concerns including risks from flammable materials, inadequate infrastructure, and disturbances that compromise patient care necessitate this directive.

“To provide a safe and conducive environment for both patients and the community, these facilities must relocate within six months. Failure to comply will result in closure,” the council warned.
