King Mohammed VI elated with Morocco, Spain, and Portugal announcements as the 2030 FIFA World Cup hosts, commits to deliver a superb tournament.

King Mohammed VI of Morocco has expressed and received with joy and satisfaction the decision by the FIFA governing council to award the 2030 FIFA World Cup hosting rights to the three Mediterranean neighbors of Morocco, Spain, and Portugal.

In his statement, which was released on Wednesday evening shortly after the big announcement, he congratulated the three countries on the milestone achievement, reiterating his country’s commitment to deliver a successful football bonanza in collaboration with the Spanish and Portuguese governments.

The announcement gives the African continent an opportunity to stage the global showpiece for only the second time since it was staged in South Africa in 2030.

The three hosts of Morocco, Spain, and Portugal automatically qualify for the 2030 edition as joint hosts.

Morocco has successfully staged the 2022 FIFA Club World Cup, the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament, and the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals.
