Kenyans Jepchirchir, Jebet and Sawe nominated for Outside Stadium Athlete of the Year award

Reigning World Marathon champion Peres Jepchirchir, 10km World record holder Agnes Jebet Ngetich and London and Berlin Marathon champion Sebastian Sawe have been nominated for the Athlete of the Year Award in the Outside Stadium category.
Jepchirchir, who is also the Olympic champion, won the marathon gold in last month’s World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, her 5th global title.
Jebet set the women-only record in 10km and went on to set the 3rd fastest half marathon time.
The Kenyan duo will battle it out against World marathon silver medalist Tigst Assefa from Ethiopia, Spaniard Maria Perez, who won double gold in 20km and 35km in last month’s Tokyo World Athletics, and Dutch Sifan Hassan, who won Sydney Marathon.
Sawe won the top two marathons in London and Berlin and will tussle for the gong against Caio Bonfim of Brazil, who clinched gold and silver in 20km and 35km, respectively, at the World Championships; 35km race walk World champion Evan Dundee of Canada; Ethiopian Yomif Kejelcha, who set the 2nd fastest 10km time; and World Marathon Champion Alphonse Felix Simbu from Tanzania.
