Kenyan girl emerges third in Russian singing competition

Kenya’s Angel Atieno has done the country proud after finishing third in the Our Generation Junior Song Contest 2025, held in Moscow, Russia.
The young performer impressed audiences with her original song “Nyota,” standing out among 15 young performers from across the world.
Madagascar’s Michella, Brenda and Riantsoa took home the top prize with their song “Fianarana foana”, while Russia finished second.
The Our Generation Junior Song Contest is an international event that celebrates young musical talent and promotes cultural exchange among nations. Now in its third edition, the competition has quickly grown into one of the most inclusive youth music festivals on the global stage.
Madagascar also won last year’s edition through a popular vote while a professional jury gave Brazil top marks. Belarus and Russia took second and third place, respectively.
