Kenyan Doris Lemngole wins first Diamond race in Lausanne

Kenya’s youthful sensation Dorris Lemngole beat a star-studded field to claim her 1st Diamond League win in the 3000msc, at the Athletissima meet in Lausanne, the 13th stop on Wednesday night.
The 23-year-old Kenyan, a student at the University of Alabama in the USA, outsprinted experienced Sembo Almayew of Ethiopia to cross the finish line in 9:16.36.
Almayew settled for 2nd position in 9:20.39, while American Olivia Markezich completed the podium positions in 9:20.73.
Reigning Olympic champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi was relegated to 2nd position in 800m, clocking 1:43.29.
The race was won by American Hosh Joey in 1 minute 42.82 seconds, while Spaniard Mohammed Attaoui finished 3rd.
