Kenya sevens out of medal contention at the Paris Olympics after Samoa humiliation

Kenya’s rugby sevens men team lost their final group B match at the Stade de France on Thursday evening, falling to Samoa 26-0, eliminating them from medal contention at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
Samoa went into the break with 5-0 lead through Matou Opetai’s try.
Paul Scanlan, Vaa Maliko and Steve Onosai added a try each in the 2nd half, followed by conversions each from Faafoi Falaniko, Tom Maiva and Neueli Leifufia.

Kevin Wambua’s charges will take to the field tonight against Uruguay for the 9-12th placing match.
In the quarter final matches, South Africa will play New Zealand while Argentina will play against host France.
Defending champions Fiji will tackle red hot Ireland, while Australia completes the quarter final matches on Thursday night against USA.
