President William Ruto arrives at Chavakali High School in Vihiga for the 61st Labour Day celebrations. The President was received by Vihiga Governor Wilber Ottichilo and COTU-K Secretary General Francis Atwoli.

As Labour Day celebrations got into gear at Chavakali Boys High School in Vihiga County, attendees who braved the rain were treated to a skit by KBC Veteran actors, Mary Khavere (Mama Kayai), Lucy Wangui (Judge) and Mathias Keya (Makokha), famed for their roles on “Vioja Mahakamani” and, in Mama Kayai’s case, ‘Vitimbi.”

Later, entertainment shifted to a cultural dance and a choir performance.

It wouldn’t be a Labour Day celebration without the workers’ parade.
