Harambee Starlets beat Gambia to return to WAFCON after 10 years

Kenya’s national women’s soccer team, the Harambee Starlets, completed a double victory over the Gambia on Tuesday to qualify for the 2026 Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) for  the 2nd time since their debut in 2016.

The Beldine Odemba charges, who were leading with a 3-1  from the 1st leg played at the Nyayo Stadium last week, knew that a historic achievement was in their  sight in  the return leg in Dakar, Senegal, with Mwanahalima Adam scoring the solitary goal in the 2nd half.

Kenya booked their ticket for next March’s WAFCON in Morocco with an aggregate 4-1 over Gambia.

WAFCON 2026 Qualified teams

Morocco (host nation),Zambia,Tanzania,Malawi
Algeria,Nigeria,Ghana,Burkina Faso
Kenya,Cape Verde,South Africa,Senegal

The tournament will be held in Morocco in March next Year.
