Govt to prioritize health workers’ welfare, service delivery

Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has vowed to tackle the long-standing issues facing healthcare workers and the delivery of health services to Kenyans.
CS Duale said that his Ministry remains fully committed to the implementation of the Return-to-Work Formula and underscored KMPDU’s continued cooperation and reiterated the Government’s readiness to resolve outstanding issues through structured dialogue and mutual accountability.
The Health CS spoke Thursday when he hosted the Kenya Medical Practitioners Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) led by SG Dr. Davji Bhimji Atellah and Chairperson Dr. Abidan Mwachi on implementation status of Return-to-Work agreement at Afya House, Nairobi.
He assured the union of constructive engagement in securing the rights and welfare of healthcare workers to uphold the quality of healthcare service delivery in the country which eventually will culminate to government’s Taifa Care Model.
Duale committed to consultation with key stakeholders in the health sector to find lasting solutions envisaged to accelarate quality, accessible and affordable healthcare services under Kenya’s Universal Health Coverage (UHC)
