FRMF President meets Fouzi Lekjaa meets African Ambassadors on AFCON 2025 Preparations at the Mohammed VI stadium

​The Mohammed VI Football Complex hosted an important meeting between Mr. Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) and President of the local organizing committee for the Africa Cup of Nations 2025, and the African Ambassadors accredited to Rabat.

​During this meeting, Mr. Lekjaa gave a comprehensive presentation on the progress of preparations for AFCON 2025. He stressed that Morocco is approaching this continental event with a global vision, in line with the High Directions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, which emphasize the Kingdom’s African depth, both in terms of bilateral cooperation and shared continental work.

According to him, the success of this edition will not only be a national achievement but a success for all of Africa.

​The African Ambassadors expressed their great satisfaction with the level of progress in the preparations, commending the coherence and complementarity of the work between the different Moroccan institutions.

They considered that the approach adopted by the Kingdom offers solid guarantees to ensure the success of this upcoming edition.

​In a dynamic to strengthen coordination, Mr. Lekjaa announced the creation of a dedicated cell for communication and follow-up between the local organizing committee and the African diplomatic missions.

The objective of this structure will be to facilitate administrative procedures, support the needs related to the travel and accommodation of teams, and oversee related logistical aspects.

​The participants also praised the remarkable momentum in the country’s sports infrastructure, as well as the rapid and efficient mobilization of the concerned authorities.

All these elements, they noted, confirm that Morocco is heading towards organizing an exceptional edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, reflecting a new continental vision for major sporting events.

​In closing the meeting, Mr. Lekjaa reaffirmed that this competition is first and foremost that of the entire African continent, and that Morocco is fully committed to making it a success commensurate with African aspirations and Royal directives.
