French PM Francois Bayrou urges better checks at schools after deadly knife attack

French Prime Minister Francois Bayrou Thursday called for “an intensification of controls in and around schools” after a pupil killed a classmate and wounded three others in a knife attack at a private school in the west of the country.
Bayrou called for “concrete proposals” for the prevention of “violence committed by minors with bladed weapons” to be submitted to him within four weeks, his office said.
