Kawira Mwangaza launches Umoja Na Maendeleo Party

Former Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza has launched a new political outfit, the Umoja Na Maendeleo Party (UMP), positioning it as a platform for constitutional respect, inclusion of marginalized groups, and a fresh approach to grassroots leadership.

Speaking during the launch of the party at Ntumburi area in Meru County, Mwangaza will focus on three key pillars which include, upholding the Constitution, protecting vulnerable populations particularly women and persons with disabilities, and fighting corruption in leadership.

Mwangaza declared that her party would provide a platform for aspiring leaders, including those without the financial muscle to mount expensive campaigns. “UMP is the party for the ordinary Kenyan the hustler who wants change but lacks resources. We will amplify their voice,” she said.

She urged Meru people to join the UMP party noting that other communities have their own political parties.
