First batch of Kenyan pilgrims arrive in Saudi Arabia for 2025 Hajj

The first batch of Kenyan pilgrims has arrived in Saudi Arabia ahead of the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage.

The pilgrims landed at the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah on Sunday, where they were received by Kenya’s Consul General in Jeddah, Ambassador Aden Mohamud Mohamed.

Officials from the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM) were also present to welcome the delegation.

A total of 4,500 Kenyan pilgrims are expected to perform Hajj this year.

The second group of Kenyan pilgrims are set to arrive in Saudi Arabia through Madinah International Airport and travel to Makkah to begin their spiritual journey.

Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam, which draws millions of Muslims from around the world annually to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah.

The climax of the Hajj pilgrimage, a sacred journey for Muslims, is the day of Arafah, which is followed by Eid al-Adha, the feast of the sacrifice.
