Curtain falls on KCSE exams with fewer malpractice cases
The month-long Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination has come to a close, with the Ministry of Education reporting a decrease in exam malpractice cases.
Basic Education Principal Secretary Dr Belio Kipsang, who dispatched the final examination papers in the early hours of Friday, credited the success to enhanced security features in the exam papers and the formation of a multi-agency team to monitor and detect cheating.
Dr. Kipsang praised the team for successfully infiltrating and blocking all online platforms that had previously been used to compromise the exams.
He also revealed that a few cases of impersonation were reported in private schools within Nairobi County.
According to the examination timetable, November 22 was the last day of the national exams, with candidates sitting for the Physics practical.
965,501 candidates sat for this year’s examination, an increase of 66,048 from 2023.
