CS Mutua opens a Saudi model house at NITA, Mombasa

The government has reiterated its commitment to expanding employment opportunities and ensuring that the workforce is well-equipped to thrive in foreign job markets.

Labour Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua challenged the youth, the majority of whom are job seekers, to take advantage of the ongoing job interviews. He revealed that his ministry has already implemented measures to shorten the training period and introduced attractive financing options to support their travel abroad.

The CS emphasized the importance of maintaining the right attitude and a disciplined lifestyle, including avoiding drugs, to successfully compete for jobs abroad.

He was speaking in Mombasa when he unveiled a model Saudi house within the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA).

The house, which will provide job recruits with a unique opportunity to familiarize themselves with Arabian culture and home ambiance, is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Labour, the International Labour Organization (ILO), and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office.

“The Model Saudi House will provide job recruits with a unique opportunity to familiarize themselves with Arabian culture and home ambience, ensuring they adapt more easily to their new work environments. This initiative enhances their preparedness and marketability, giving them a competitive edge in the international job market,” he said.

The government has significantly scaled up partnerships for job creation.
