Commuter train services suspended over ongoing heavy rains

Kenya Railways has suspended all commuter train services due to the ongoing heavy rains that have affected the rail lines.
The management in a statement said Wednesday the move was a precautionary measure to ensure safety.
“We wish to notify members of the public that commuter train services have been temporarily suspended due to the ongoing heavy rains that have affected the rail lines. We are compelled to take these precautionary measures because the safety of our customers is always of paramount importance to us”, the statement read.
Kenya Railways has promised to issue an update once normal operations resume.
“We will advise you once normal services resume. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused” it said.
The heavy rainfall has left a trail of destruction across the country.
