Collaboration for media and influencers is key in delivering the best 2025 AFCON finals

Mainstream media, influencers and content creators will play a pivotal role in delivering the 35th African Cup of Nations, set for December and January this year in Morocco.

Speaking during a 1-day Future Media Initiative conference in Rabat, Morocco, on Thursday, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) President’s advisor, Omar Khyari, said they have engaged the best influencers, content creators and mainstream media from all continents to deliver the AFCON 2025 experience.

“To us it’s about delivering the best ever AFCON finals, and we have and will continue engaging the best content creators, influencers and media to tell stories about our AFCON. Morocco is more than ready and very glad to stage the tournament.” Said Omar

The 35th edition of AFCON will kick off on 21st December 2025 and run through 18th January 2026 in 9 venues located in six cities in Morocco, featuring 24 teams.

“The vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI is to ensure Morocco leads by example the rest of Africa in having the best football infrastructure and the best organisation of the AFCON 2025. Our president, Fouzi Lekjaa, is keen on having a better and more memorable tournament than the 2023 edition in Ivory Coast.” Omar added

Panellists who spoke during the Rabat conference called on the need for concerted efforts towards the realisation of telling African football stories to the world in an accurate way and creating a positive image before and during the tournament.

The conference brought together over 200 journalists, content creators and influencers from Europe, Africa, America and Asia and was organised by the Future Media Initiative.
