clinical officers strike

The Kenya Union of Clinical Officers (KUCO) is demanding dialogue with the County and the National Governments to resolve the ongoing strike.

The clinicians   want a review of salaries for Universal Health Coverage-UHC clinicians, risk allowance, and the absorption of a section of their lot on permanent basis.

The Union’s National Chairperson Peterson Wachira, has called on the Council of Governors to negotiate an amicable return-to-work formula. Out of 10 areas of concern, the clinicians say three are yet to be addressed and there seems to be no progress.

Wachira spoke when he led protests alongside Coast Chapter members in Mombasa.

On Tuesday, Coast Chapter officers from Mombasa, Kilifi and Kwale counties marched from the Coast General Hospital to the Governor’s office to protest the issuance of show cause letters to the Mombasa Cadre.
