Busia: Suspected terrorist jailed for 30 years in prison

A Busia court has sentenced a terror suspect to 30 years in prison over involvement with Al-Shabaab and the Islamic State of Iraq terror groups.
The suspect, identified as Jackton Jacob Kanoti, alias Abdul Hakim, was arrested in Siaya township in 2021.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the court established beyond reasonable doubt that the evidence adduced by the prosecution was credible and consistent for conviction.
During his arrest, Jackton was found in possession of incriminating materials related to terrorist acts.
Additionally, a mobile phone recovered from him revealed his involvement in accessing terrorism-related content, including videos and chats from various Telegram groups.
